The Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), is the company in charge of the public undeground, tram lines and buses that connnect the german capital. As part of their “Because We Love You” marketing campaign, they invite local instagramers to do a guest take over for a week as "Lieblings der Woche" (Favourite of the Week). All of the picture´s content must be related to the BVG directly or indirectly, however guests are free to use their own own visual aesthetics and editorial style to generate the content for this account.

For the takeover I did in August 2018, under my personal account @brightyoungthing_, I decided to use my regular commuting routes as inspiration. The result were seven images that portray candid moments that happen along the BVG´s regular commuting routes, most of which regular users (myself included) often loose sight off, either because we are too used to them or too busy to take notice.

The reactions were quite positive, as people found it easy to relate to both the images and captions, most of which invited users to join the conversation by mentioning their favourite stations or how their day/week was going. To reproduce these images, I used natural lighting and my DSLR Camera and Iphone for most captures, also I stuck to the usual aesthetics and editing style of my IG account @brightyoungthing_.

The only challenge here was creating catchy captions in German, since this is not my mother tongue and my domain of the language is quite basic. Nonetheless, I was able to rise up to the challenge thanks to german speaking friends that where happy to profread them.
